Microsoft Windows Error Message 123:
'ERROR_INVALID_NAME' The filename directory name or volume label syntax is incorrect.
The error message 123 may appear when you attempt to connect to a server or a package with an incompatible filename. It often appears when accessing servers via Remote Command Service (RCMD) of NT Resource Utility Kit. Using leading backslashes when calling servers during an interactive multi-session causes an error since the symbols cannot be understood. The error can also happen when using Distribution Manager of Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) to compress a package of source files when there are non-English Unicode characters present. The program does not understand characters that use a double-byte character set (DBCS). These are interpreted as question marks preventing the proper validation of the file path to be compressed. The error often happens on the 3.5 3.52 and 4.0 versions of Windows NT Workstations and Server platforms. It also occurs on the 2003 and 2.0 versions of the Microsoft Systems Management Server. These also happen more often on the Russian Japanese and Chinese versions of the latter.
